Jakarta Trip - Day 1: Breakfast

Author: SabahanCuisine  //  Category: Odds&Ends

I didn’t mention it here, but to those of you who visits my main blog frequently would know about my very very short trip to Jakarta earlier this week. You can read more about it from this post onwards, there will be bits and pieces describing the trip along the way, but the posts here will mainly be about the food during the visit to Jakarta.

We arrived at the airport around 11 p.m. and the first advertisement board I saw at the arrival hall…

 Indosat Signage

We got to our hotel at 12 midnight, but my     sis and I was resting on the sofa for a while before we joined the rest of the gang at the reception. That’s when I saw the time on the clock and asked sis to take a photo of it.

I looked around and noticed that the restaurant is just next to the hotel lobby. Of course I checked out what’s the current promotion ;)

When everything was settled, we rested well in our hotel rooms to be ready for the day ahead of us. The very next morning, I just had to sample the Betawi food, so filled my belly with some nice free breakfast.

Nasi Kuning

Nasi Kuning with fried tempe with flour, baked beans, omelette, chicken sausages, crackers, and deep fried chicken  with fruits on the side and a glass of apple juice

Nasi kuning! Oh yeah! Nasi kuning means yellow rice in Malay & Indonesia language. I’ve been wanting to eat this for months, but couldn’t find any in the local restaurants around my area. I’m too lazy to cook some for myself too :P I’m happy with that food I picked from the buffet breakfast, except for the baked beans. It was hard and doesn’t taste nice at all.

croissant

Banana cakes, croissant with thin slices of cheddar cheese and marmalade jam

I still had room for more so I got myself that soft, tasty croissant. The banana cakes were nice too. I was definitely looking forward for the next breakfast at the hotel :D

Click Away & Support The Pink Ribbon

Author: SabahanCuisine  //  Category: Odds&Ends

This is going to be a topic that is a far cry from FOOD. But whatever it takes to help those in need. Just because it doesn’t match the blog description, doesn’t mean I can’t show my support and help those in need eh? :D

The Pink Ribbon symbolised the fight against breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Site launched a campaign, ‘Help Make June Survivor Month’, which targets 8,000,000 clicks this month on their pink button. If they reached the target, their premier sponsor, Bare Necessities, will donate $10,000 for more free Mammograms. All sponsor money will go to charity - 100% of them!

Let’s spare some time daily and click on the pink button on their site to help them reach their target.

You can browse around the website for more information. If you shop from their online store, you’ll be able to generate more donation to the Breast Cancer Fund.

Isn’t it nice if you walk around in this shirt? Not only you’ll look great in it, you’ll be supporting the fight against breast cancer at the same time by spreading the news to those around you. Just remember to click on the pink button first before you’ll get lost in making your decision on which item to buy eh? You’ll be spoilt with choices, that I can assure you :D
