A Green Meal

Author: SabahanCuisine  //  Category: food

I keep forgetting the name of the meal, so I just call it ‘The Green Meal’. :P If anybody out there knows what its called … do tell, please. Suituapui, do you recognise this? I used to have this all the time in Lintas Square area, but the vendor moved to somewhere in Taman Cantek (Lido, KK, Sabah) if I’m not mistaken.

The set of meal - soup, rice and all the vegetables. Add the sesame seeds if you like the taste.

I like the savoury taste of the dried shrimp cooked with the rice. I always opt for the ethnic brown rice instead of white rice.

Add in the roasted peanuts if you like.

Mix them all together.

The soup! Blended green vegetable soup. One will need to acquire the taste and smell of this soup before one can really enjoy having it with the the rest of the set meal. For a first timer, one can ask the soup to be prepared lightly/thinly instead of the full, thick taste of the soup.

Updated 16:05 Hours - Suituapui said it’s called ‘lui cha’ - a vegetarian dish. Thanks STP! :)

Steamboat Buffet at Windbell Restaurant

Author: SabahanCuisine  //  Category: Eateries, food
We organised a surprise birthday party for a good friend of ours on 28th April 2008 (yeah, yeah! took me a while to blog about it hehe) at a restaurant with eat-all-you-can steamboat buffet.

The soup: Tom Yam and Chicken Flavour

The photo says it all…

Whose selection was this? Mandy’s! Buat pa ko ambik kueh tiaw oh? Bikin rugi! LOL

Yeah! This was more like it! Lots of fish fillets and prawns/small shrimps!

Chicken feet cooked with soy sauce, anyone? Whatever, but it was nice LOL

Half cooked egg! Yummy…..! A must have for me during steamboat sessions..

The price? RM20-RM22 per pax. Between that range, not really sure since I get to eat for free most of the time whenever we visit this place LOL! Windbell Restaurant has been around for as long as I remember, but not many people knows of its whereabout. It’s somewhere near the Police Air Force, near the old airport hangar in Tanjung Aru. The building itself look a bit rundown, but the food is nice and affordable.

Since it was a birthday dinner party, how could I not post the photo of the cake? Our dessert ….

Soybean Cheesecake from Multi Bake. Delicious!

Give it a try if you’re in the mood for steamboat buffet dinner!
