Japanese Food

Two weeks ago, we had dinner at Nishiki Japanese Restaurant - a treat from Mimi for my sister’s outstanding SPM result. Mom, Father and I were invited along too! Hehe It was the same day we decided to get those detox supplementary food from Natural Health Farm. We thought one last time of having great food before committing ourselves to healthy food habit for the next two weeks (yeah, right!).

I’m a big fan of salmon sashimi/sushi… so it’s a must have whenever I go to any Japanese restaurants.

Salmon Sashimi

I like the salmon sashimi at this particular restaurant because the slices are thicker than the ones you can find at other Japanese restaurants here in KK.

The dinner set that I ordered - something with fish and prawn tempura

I’ve always been curious of how those sake taste like, so I asked my Mimi if she drank it before. I’ve read somewhere that the sake should be taken when we eat those raw fish etc. It is supposed to kill the harmful bacteria or something like that.

The Sake

The waitress asked if we would like to have cold or hot sake. Mom said maybe the hot sake is good. So that’s what Mimi ordered. :D And it was really hot!! Could’ve burn our tongue if we weren’t careful enough. The taste?? It smelled as if it was made from uncooked rice, sour and tasted horrible! LOL Luckily Father came along, so he was the one who finished the sake. We were having a hard time finishing the ones we had in our sake cups! The conclusion? The sushi and sashimi are good enough to be eaten with wasabi alone and we can skip the sake anytime! :)

p.s: Mom ordered unagi dinner set while Father ordered something with chicken. The quality of the photos aren’t good enough for posting, so no photos here. Too excited to eat the yummy food to care about getting the photos right! :D

I’m A Sprinkled Donut!

Author: SabahanCuisine  //  Category: Fun Test, Odds&Ends

I’ve been craving for donuts for days and so far I’ve manage to resist the urge to drive over and indulging myself with those sinfully nice, soft, creamy Big Apple Donuts.

As I blog hopped, I found this test and decided to give it a shot. I always skip this one from my selections, I prefer those with fillings and what do I know - it represents me! Duh!

You Are a Sprinkled Donut

Flamboyant and flashy, you’re easily distracted by shiny things.

You’re definitely a snazzy number, and you usually catch everyone’s eye in the room.

And you’ve got the goods to back it up your colorful image.

(Though too much of you gives people a stomach ache!)
